Ingredients

  • 8 oz Flour
  • 2 oz Butter
  • 1/2 oz Caster Sugar
  • 1/4 pt Milk
  • 4 tbl Mincemeat
  • 11 tsp Mixed Spices
  • 1 Egg (Beaten)

Method

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the mixed spices, flour and salt.
  2. Add the butter and sugar, then mix thoroughly by hand until breadcrumb consistency.
  3. Make a well in the center.
  4. Pour in the milk and mincemeat, then mix well.
  5. Place on a floured board and knead until smooth and without lumps.
  6. Roll into small circles about 1“ thick and cut edges off with a pastry cutter.
  7. Place in an oven preheated to 400 F and bake for about 10 minutes or until brown.
