Spiced Mincemeat Scones Recipe
Ingredients
- 8 oz Flour
- 2 oz Butter
- 1/2 oz Caster Sugar
- 1/4 pt Milk
- 4 tbl Mincemeat
- 11 tsp Mixed Spices
- 1 Egg (Beaten)
Method
- In a large bowl, mix together the mixed spices, flour and salt.
- Add the butter and sugar, then mix thoroughly by hand until breadcrumb consistency.
- Make a well in the center.
- Pour in the milk and mincemeat, then mix well.
- Place on a floured board and knead until smooth and without lumps.
- Roll into small circles about 1“ thick and cut edges off with a pastry cutter.
- Place in an oven preheated to 400 F and bake for about 10 minutes or until brown.
