Ingredients

  • 1 lb Flour
  • 4 oz Butter
  • 2 oz Caster Sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups Milk
  • 4 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 Orange Rinds (Grated)
  • Sugar Lumps
  • Orange Juice

Method

  1. Rub the butter into sieved flour, salt and baking powder.
  2. Add the sugar and grated orange rinds.
  3. Mix all well with milk until a dough.
  4. Roll out until about 1/2 inch thick.
  5. Cut into rounds.
  6. Dip a sugar lump into the orange juice.
  7. Then press into the top of each scone.
  8. Bake for 10 minutes at 425°F.
