Buttermilk Scones Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Soda Bread Flour
  • 4 oz Sultanas
  • 4 oz Caster Sugar
  • 3 oz Margarine
  • 1/2 pt Buttermilk
  • Salt

Method

  1. Sift the flour and pinch of salt into a bowl.
  2. Rub in the margarine and add sugar.
  3. Stir in the buttermilk to make a soft but not too sticky dough.
  4. Knead lightly.
  5. Roll on a floured board until 1/2 inch thick.
  6. Cut into rounds and place on a baking tray.
  7. Bake for 10 minutes at 425°F.
