Ingredients

  • 8 oz Flour
  • 4 fl oz Milk
  • 2 oz Butter
  • 1 oz Caster Sugar
  • 1 oz Demerera Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon (Ground)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 Cox's Apple (Cubed)

Method

  1. In a large bowl, sift together the salt, cinnamon and flour.
  2. Using your hands, mix in the butter until a breadcrumb consistency.
  3. Add the apple cubes, sugar and demerera sugar while stirring.
  4. Make a well in the middle and pour in the milk.
  5. Mix until a soft doughy consistency.
  6. Remove from the bowl and place on a floured board.
  7. Knead the dough until smooth and without lumps
  8. Roll into small circles about 1“ thick and cut edges off with a pastry cutter.
  9. Place in an oven preheated to 400 F and bake for about 10 minutes or until browned off.
