Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb Streaky Bacon (Rindless / Sliced)
  • 4 oz Lentils
  • 1 pt Water
  • 2 tsp Cornflour
  • 3 Celery Sticks (Sliced)
  • 2 Potatoes (Sliced)
  • Carrots (Sliced)
  • 1 Onion (Chopped)
  • Seasoning

Method

  1. Put the vegetables into a saucepan along with 1 oz margarine.
  2. Add the bacon and cook for about 5 minutes.
  3. While stirring, add the lentils, seasoning and water.
  4. Cook for a few minutes over a steady heat.
  5. Place in a casserole dish and cover.
  6. Place in an oven preheated to 375° and cook for 1 hour.
  7. Blend the cornflour with 1 tbl of water and add to casserole, then return to the oven for a couple of minutes before serving.
