Mixture Ingredients

  • 9 oz Flour
  • 2 oz Butter (Softened)
  • 1 oz Yeast
  • 1 tsp Salt

Topping Ingredients

  • 3 lb Onions (peeled / Chopped)
  • 6 oz Bacon (Chopped)
  • 6 oz Sour Cream
  • 1 oz Butter (Soft)
  • 3 Eggs (Beaten)

Method

  1. In a small bowl, combine the yeast with 1 tsp of sugar and leave aside.
  2. Take a mixing bowl and combine the salt, flour and softened butter until a dough.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and knead until a doughy consistency.
  4. Gently fry the chopped onions and season with salt, pepper and caraway.
  5. Stir sour cream and eggs in with the onions.
  6. Put the dough into the bottom of a greased 9“ baking tin.
  7. Pour the onion mixture over the dough.
  8. Place in an oven preheated to 350 F and bake for about 60 minutes.
  9. Lift out of the oven and put on a wire rack to cool.
