Chocolate Cream Flan Recipe
Mixture Ingredients
- 6 oz Caster Sugar
- 5 oz Butter (Softened)
- 5 oz Almonds (Ground)
- 4 oz Cooking Chocolate
- 2 oz Flour
- 1 tbl Black Coffee
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
Topping Ingredients
- 8 fl oz Double Cream
- 4 fl oz White Wine
- 4 oz Cooking Chocolate
- 3 tbl Dark Rum
- 1 tsp Caster Sugar
- 1 tsp Cocoa Powder
Method
- Take a mixing bowl and combine the sugar, softened butter and eggs until smooth.
- Place the chocolate in a bowl and melt over a saucepan of hot water.
- Pour melted chocolate, coffee and ground almonds into the creamed mix.
- Sift in the flour and baking powder while stirring.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9“ cake tin.
- Place in an oven preheated to 350 F and bake for about 35 minutes or until brown.
- Lift out of the oven and put on a wire rack to cool.
- Mix together the white wine and rum, then pour over the cake.
- For the topping, take a mixing bowl and combine the sugar and double cream until peaks form.
- Spread the topping mixture evenly over the top.
- Dust with cocoa powder or chocolate shavings.
