Apple Cream Flan Recipe
Mixture Ingredients
- 13 oz Flour
- 7 fl oz Milk (Warm)
- 2 oz Butter (Softened)
- 1 oz Caster Sugar
- 1 oz Yeast
Topping Ingredients
- 34 lb Apples (Cored / Chopped)
- 13 oz Pouring Cream
- 4 oz Caster Sugar
- 2 oz Currants
- 3 Eggs (Beaten)
- 1 tbl Icing Sugar
- 1 Lemon
Method
- In a small bowl, combine the yeast with 1 tsp of sugar and leave aside.
- Take a mixing bowl and combine the salt, flour and caster sugar until a dough.
- Put the dough into the bottom of a greased 9“ baking tin and set aside.
- In another bowl, mix together the cored and chopped apples, currants and squeezed lemon juice.
- Put the fruit mixture into the tin also.
- Place in an oven preheated to 350 F and bake for about 30 minutes.
- Lift out of the oven and put on a wire rack to cool.
- For the topping, combine the beaten eggs and icing sugar until peaks form.
- Pour over the top of the flan.
- Bake at 350 F for a further 40 minutes before serving.
