Spiced Wine Triangles Recipe
Mixture Ingredients
- 9 oz Flour
- 9 oz Caster Sugar
- 9 oz Butter (Softened)
- 6 oz Chocolate (Grated)
- 1/2 oz Vanilla Sugar
- 1/2 oz Baking Powder
- 1/2 pt Spiced Wine
- 4 Eggs (Beaten)
Topping Ingredients
- 9 oz Icing Sugar
- 3 oz Almonds (Chopped)
- 2 tbl Chocolate (Grated)
Method
- In a saucepan over a medium heat, combine the vanilla sugar, butter, caster sugar and beaten eggs until smooth.
- Sift the baking powder and flour into the mixture while stirring.
- In a saucepan over a steady heat, heat the spiced wine.
- Pour 4 fl oz into the mixture.
- Add the grated chocolate and mix well.
- Spread the smooth mixture into a greased baking sheet.
- Place in an oven preheated to 350 F and bake for about 30 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and cool on a wire rack.
- Combine the rest of the spiced wine with the icing sugar to make the topping.
- When smooth, spread the topping and generously sprinkle on the chopped almonds.
- Slice into triangles and serve.
