Chocolate Almond Slices Recipe
Mixture Ingredients
- 6 oz Caster Sugar
- 6 oz Butter (Softened)
- 5 oz Milk Chocolate (Chopped)
- 2 oz Almonds (Ground)
- 1 oz Flour
- 4 Egg Yolks
- 4 Egg Whites
Topping Ingredients
- 5 oz Apricot Jam
- 2 tbl Chocolate (Grated)
- 1 tbl Icing Sugar
Method
- In a large bowl, combine the salt, softened butter, egg yolks and sugar until smooth.
- Put the chopped chocolate into a bowl and cover with hot water briefly.
- After a minute, drain off the water.
- Sift in the flour and ground almonds while stirring.
- Whisk the egg whites until stiff and fold in gradually.
- Spread the smooth mixture onto a greased baking sheet.
- Place in an oven preheated to 350 F and bake for about 15 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and slice into long thirds.
- Set the thirds on top of eachother with a generous spreading of apricot jam between.
- Sprinkle the top generously with grated chocolate.
