Italian Chocolate Biscotti Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Flour
  • 1 cup White Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Chocolate (Chopped)
  • 1/2 cup Almonds (Chopped)
  • 1/2 cup Butter (Softened)
  • 1 tbl Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 4 Eggs (Beaten)
  • 3 Lemon Peels
  • 2 Orange Peels

Method

  1. Combine the chopped chocolate pieces, chopped almons, flour, sugar, salt and baking powder in a large mixing bowl.
  2. While stirring, gradually fold in the vanilla extract, orange peel, lemon peel and beaten eggs.
  3. Scoop the mixture onto a floured board and split in half.
  4. Roll each half into a foot-long roll.
  5. Now place both rolls on a greased baking sheet.
  6. Place in an oven preheated to 350 F and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Once baked, lift out of the oven and slice thickly.
  8. Pop the slices back into the oven for another 10 minutes before serving.
