Creamy Chicken Cratio Recipe
Ingredients
- 12 oz Leeks (Trimmed)
- 10 fl oz Milk
- 8 oz Gruyere Cheese
- 8 oz Cooked Chicken
- 4 oz Streak Bacon (Rindless)
- 3 oz Garlic Butter
- 2 tbl Plain Flour
- 2 tbl Parsley (Chopped)
- 1 French Stick
Method
- Cut the leeks, bacon and chicken into chunks.
- Grate the cheese and then slice the French stick into about 15 slices.
- Spread a single side of each slice with the garlic butter.
- Take a frying pan and fry the bacon until crisp, then lift out.
- Melt the rest of the garlic butter in the pan and saute the leeks until tender.
- Add the flour and stir while gradually pouring in the milk.
- Bring to the boil then reduce temperature and let simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Add the chicken and simmer for a further 5 minutes.
- Stir in the cheese, bacon and parsley.
- Pour into a shallow dish and top with the bread, buttered side up.
- Sprinkle with grated cheese.
- Place under a hot grill for about 5 minutes.
