Sugar Cake Recipe
Mixture Ingredients
- 8 fl oz Milk
- 2 oz Caster Sugar
- 2 oz Butter (Softened)
- 2 oz Flour
- 1 oz Yeast
- 1 tsp Sugar
Topping Ingredients
- 9 oz Butter (Softened)
- 7 oz Hazelnuts (Chopped)
- 6 oz Caster Sugar
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
Method
- In a bowl, combine the yeast and tsp of sugar. Set aside.
- Take another bowl and mix together the sugar, butter and flour.
- Mix in the yeast mixture while stirring.
- Knead to a dough and leave to rise.
- Put onto a greased baking sheet and leave to rise for 45 minutes.
- For the top, combine the butter, hazelnuts, sugar and cinnamon.
- Spread the mixture over the dough.
- Place in an oven preheated to 350 F and bake for about 30 minutes or until brown.
