Bumble Bee Cake Recipe
Mixture Ingredients
- 11 oz Flour
- 9 oz Caster Sugar
- 6 oz Butter (Softened)
- 6 tbl Double Cream
- 4 tbl Baking Powder
- 6 Eggs
Topping Ingredients
- 9 oz Almonds (Chopped)
- 7 oz Butter (Softened)
- 7 oz Caster Sugar
- 2 oz Flour
- 3 ybl Double Cream
Method
- Using a large bowl, mix together the sugar and eggs until fluffy.
- Add the butter while stirring and follow with the flour, baking powder and double cream while stirring.
- Spread onto a greased baking sheet.
- Place in an oven preheated to 350 F and bake for about 15 minutes.
- Place the butter, double cream, sugar, flour and almonds into a saucepan and bring to the boil.
- Remove from the saucepan and spread evenly on top of the base mixture.
- Return to the oven and bake for a further 15 minutes.
