Ingredients

  • 9 oz Self Raising Flour
  • 6 oz Sultanas
  • 5 oz Caster Sugar
  • 4 oz Margarine
  • 1/4 pt Milk
  • 1 Egg (Beaten)

Method

  1. Put the sugar, sultanas, margarine and milk into a saucepan.
  2. Bring to the boil slowly.
  3. Once boiled, turn off the heat and let it cool.
  4. Then add the beaten egg and flour while stirring.
  5. Spoon into a greased loaf tin.
  6. Sprinkle with fine sugar.
  7. Bake for 50 minutes at 350°F.
  8. Turn out onto a wire rack to cool.
