Traditional Beef Goulash Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 lb Stewing Steak (Diced)
- 11 oz Tomatoes (Chopped)
- 1 oz Onion (Chopped)
- 1/4 pt Stock & Water
- 1 carton Soured Cream
- 1 tbl Paprika
- 1 tbl Oil
- 2 tsp Tomato Puree
- 2 Bay Leaves
- 1 Green Pepper (Chopped)
- Flour
- Seasoning
- Nutmeg
Method
- Toss the steak in the seasoned flour.
- Add a little oil to a frying pan and fry the beef until brown.
- Add the onion, tomatoes, paprika, tomato puree, bay leaves, green pepper and a pinch of nutmeg.
- Pour in the stock and water, bring to the boil.
- After a couple of minutes, remove to a casserole.
- Cover and cook in an oven preheated to 325° for 2 hours.
- Pour in the soured cream just before serving with rice.
