Ingredients

  • 1 lb Lean Beef (Minced)
  • 9 oz Tomatoes (Chopped)
  • 9 fl oz Water
  • 8 oz Peas
  • 4 fl oz White Wine
  • 5 tbl Breadcrumbs
  • 3 tbl Olive Oil
  • 2 tbl Parsley (Chopped)
  • 1 tbl Lemon Juice
  • 2 tsp Black Peppercorn (Ground)
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Ground Cumin
  • 1 tsp Ground Coriander
  • 1 tsp Nutmeg (Grated)
  • 2 Onion (Chopped)
  • 1 Egg (Beaten)
  • 1 Garlic Clove (Crushed)
  • Flour

Method

  1. Combine 1 chopped onion, minced beef, salt, ground cumin, ground coriander, 1 tsp black peppercorn, parsley, breadcrumbs, lemon juice, olive oil and the beaten egg.
  2. Once thickened up, make meatballs.
  3. Roll the meatballs in flour and dust off excess.
  4. Heat a little olive oil in a frying pan, add the meatballs and fry until browned lightly.
  5. Remove and keep heated.
  6. Add another chopped onion to the pan and fry until brown.
  7. Then pour in the white wine and cook until it reduces by half.
  8. Now add the garlic, tomatoes and water. Cook for a further 10 minutes.
  9. Add the peas and cook for another 15 minutes.
  10. Serve the meatballs and pour over the sauce.
