Spicy Beef Meatballs With Peas Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 lb Lean Beef (Minced)
- 9 oz Tomatoes (Chopped)
- 9 fl oz Water
- 8 oz Peas
- 4 fl oz White Wine
- 5 tbl Breadcrumbs
- 3 tbl Olive Oil
- 2 tbl Parsley (Chopped)
- 1 tbl Lemon Juice
- 2 tsp Black Peppercorn (Ground)
- 1 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Ground Cumin
- 1 tsp Ground Coriander
- 1 tsp Nutmeg (Grated)
- 2 Onion (Chopped)
- 1 Egg (Beaten)
- 1 Garlic Clove (Crushed)
- Flour
Method
- Combine 1 chopped onion, minced beef, salt, ground cumin, ground coriander, 1 tsp black peppercorn, parsley, breadcrumbs, lemon juice, olive oil and the beaten egg.
- Once thickened up, make meatballs.
- Roll the meatballs in flour and dust off excess.
- Heat a little olive oil in a frying pan, add the meatballs and fry until browned lightly.
- Remove and keep heated.
- Add another chopped onion to the pan and fry until brown.
- Then pour in the white wine and cook until it reduces by half.
- Now add the garlic, tomatoes and water. Cook for a further 10 minutes.
- Add the peas and cook for another 15 minutes.
- Serve the meatballs and pour over the sauce.
