Ingredients

  • 1 lb Lean Beef (Cubed)
  • 6 oz Self-raising Flour
  • 3 oz Low Fat Spread
  • 1/2 pt Stock
  • 1/2 pt Guinness
  • 4 tbl Water
  • 3 tbl Parsley (Chopped)
  • 2 tbl Flour (Blended With Water)
  • 1 tsp Mixed Herbs
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 Garlic Clove (Crushed)

Method

  1. Place the beef, onions, stock, Guinness and garlic in an ovenproof dish.
  2. Stir and cover the dish, then place in an oven.
  3. Cook at 350° for 2 hours.
  4. While it cooks, make the dumplings by mixing the low fat spread and flour until like breadcrumbs.
  5. Then stir in the parsley and season.
  6. Now add the water and knead. Make 6 dough balls.
  7. About 30 minutes before cooking time is up, add the dough balls to the casserole.
  8. Serve with potatoes and vegetables.
