Barley Beef Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 lb Stewing Steak (Diced)
- 4 oz Mushrooms (Sliced)
- 4 oz Bacon (Diced)
- 1/2 oz Seasoned Flour
- 4 tbl Pearl Barley
- 2 Beef Cubes (Dissolved In 3/4 pt Hot Water)
- 1 Onion (Chopped)
- Worchestershire Sauce
- Seasoning
Method
- Toss the beef in the flour.
- Fry bacon in a little oil, add meat and onion then fry until lightly browned.
- Add the mushrooms, sauce and barley.
- Pour in the beef stock, season and mix well.
- Pour into a casserole.
- Place in an oven preheated to 350° and cook for 2 1/4 hours.
- Serve hot with crusty bread and rice.
